Local K-12 Science Fair Judging
Community schools in the Michiana area often contact Notre Dame teaching and research faculty to ask for qualified individuals to judge K-12 science fairs, typically taking about half a day. You'll often see emails from Michelle Whaley, Jennifer Robichaud, and others asking for volunteers - so watch out for them or contact those folks directly. It's a great opportunity to foster curiosity and excitement about science in youngsters!
Expanding Your Horizons
Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) is a conference for girls in middle school (Grades 6-8). This day-long event at Notre Dame, which includes hands-on activities in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). At the conference, girls get a chance to meet STEM role models and learn more about careers in those fields. Their goal is to motivate girls to become innovative and creative thinkers ready to meet 21st Century challenges.
